Monday, November 18, 2013

The Philippines was recently hit by the strongest storm ever recorded in history and the damage it left was tremendous and heartbreaking.

In response, Putnam County Hospital and WREB radio are asking the community to partner with them in reaching out to help with items in need.

Items being collected include new or slightly used blankets, towels, shoes and socks.

Also needed are canned goods, nonperishable food items, over-the-counter medications, medical gloves, masks and gowns.

No clothing is being collected.

The drop-off date is Friday, Nov. 22 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Putnam County Hospital Surgery Center parking lot.

For more information, persons may call Putnam County Hospital at 653-5121

  • Why don't they gear their "helping" efforts towards Hoosiers in need after the tornados and storms? Other countries never help Americans after disasters, ie. 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, Oklahoma bombing, etc. Just saying....
