County Jail

Three people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 11:05 a.m. Tuesday, Allison Michelle Brown, 24, Spencer, was arrested for driving with a suspended license and failure to appear.

At 6:27 p.m. Ryan Jeffrey Reed, 30, Coatesville, was charged with battery with bodily injury.

At 7:34 p.m. Jesiah Wayne Campbell, 23, Coatesville, was booked in for battery with bodily injury.

City Police

One arrest was reported early Wednesday by Greencastle City Police.

-- At 1:32 a.m., Anthony Jerome Hicks, 45, Greencastle, was arrested on six charges by Officer Matt Huffman.

Taken into custody in an area outside Castlebury Apartments, Hicks was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on charges of criminal mischief, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, battery, residential entry and resisting law enforcement.

Under portable breathalyzer testing, Hicks registered a .19 percent blood-alcohol content (BAC).

A two-vehicle property-damage accident was reported Tuesday afternoon by city officers.

-- At 3:15 p.m., the mishap occurred at Jackson and Walnut streets as Jerry Boller, 66, Greencastle, stopped a 1998 Jeep Cherokee westbound on Walnut Street, waiting to cross Jackson.

He told Officer Epple that he did not see a southbound 2000 Infiniti, driven by Brannon Hart, 31, Avon, due to other traffic. When Boller pulled into the intersection, a collision occurred.

Total damage in the accident was estimated at $5,000-$10,000.

Two recent traffic citations were issued by City Police officers.

-- At 2:46 p.m. Tuesday, Lindsey Smith, 29, Greencastle, was cited by Officer Albert Epple for driving with a suspended license.

-- At 10:57 p.m. Sunday, Jimmy Patterson, 23, Greencastle, was ticketed by Capt. Chris Jones for 40 mph in a 30-mph zone on Albin Pond Road.

Sheriff's Department

At 5:38 a.m. on Tuesday, Vinh T. Evans, 65, Bainbridge, was northbound on U.S. 231 near County Road 1100 North in a 2004 Toyota Camry when he hit a deer.

Capt. Danny Wallace estimated $2,501-$5,000 in damage.
