GCC welcomes Matt Slater as youth pastor

Greencastle Christian Church is pleased to announce that Matt Slater has been called to be the youth pastor for the congregation. As Youth Pastor, Matt will provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to middle school and high school students.

Matt will be graduating from Liberty University this December with a degree in religion, focusing on youth ministry. Matt's passion is to see students' lives transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Matt's fiancée Allison will be moving to Greencastle after their January wedding. Allison plans to work alongside Matt in support of the student ministry.

Matt's prior ministries include youth leader at Community Free Church in Maho-met, Ill., camp counselor at Camp Good News, and he helped lead the college ministry at Crossroad's UMC in Washington, Ill.

Matt has also been a guest speaker at multiple ministries in the Peoria, Ill., area.

Matt's goal for the GCC student ministry is to help students understand who they are and who God is. His desire is to have students know Jesus and prepare them for a lifetime of growing in a relationship with Him.

Worship services at Greencastle Christian Church are held at 9 and 10:30 a.m. every Sunday. Adult supervised nursery, preschool and children's areas are provided. Middle school and high school students meet each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in the multi-purpose room.
