Wayne Moore

Wayne Moore, age 83, of Greencastle, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013.

Born Feb. 27, 1930 in Putnam County, he was the son of Frank and Nora (Smock) Moore.

He married Delilah (Overshiner) Moore on March 11, 1948 and she preceded him in death on May 14, 2002.

Wayne had worked in grounds maintenance, retiring from Heritage Lake in 1993 and previously working at DePauw University.

He attended the Church of God in Greencastle.

He is survived by his daughters, Janet Dickerson, Diane (Eddie) Westgate, Kathy (Paul) Brown and Sandra Dee (Kenny) Short; sons, Dale (Kathy) Moore and Ken (Samantha) Moore; sister Betty Hurst; brother Donald Moore; daughter-in-law Carol Moore; 23 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son Steve Moore; grandson Jeff Dickerson; half-brother Kenneth Moore; and a son-in-law, Bert Dickerson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. David Bard officiating.

Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26 at the funeral home.
