City Police

A three-vehicle accident was investigated Thursday afternoon by Greencastle City Police officers.

The property-damage mishap occurred at 12:14 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Indianapolis Road at its intersection with Percy Julian Drive.

Michael Strotman, 57, Bainbridge, was stopped at the stoplight in a 2003 GMC Sierra pickup truck with a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by Dakotah Van Every, 17, Greencastle, stopped behind the pickup.

Tad Pilkin-Little, 17, Greencastle, was also eastbound, driving a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier, when he was unable to stop in time on the rain-slickened pavement. His car struck the rear of the Van Every car, which was pushed into the Strotman vehicle, Capt. Mike Hanlon reported.

Impact also caused the Van Every car to strike a mailbox in front of the first residence west of McDonald's on Indianapolis Road.

Total damage in the accident was estimated at $5,000-$10,000.

Strotman was cited by Capt. Hanlon for having no insurance.
