Thanksgiving Food Drive

Friday, November 29, 2013
Cloverdale Elementary students generously donated canned goods to supply more than 30 Thanksgiving food baskets for families in need this holiday season. The PTO donated a turkey to each of the food baskets. Fourth-grade student council members collected, separated and counted the goods supplied by each of the elementary classrooms. Students in photo are Nate Nees, Xavier Evans, Chloe Watkins, Abbi Yartz, Madison Helton, Brady Koosman, Isiah Ramsay, Audrie Fulkerson and Taylor Chism. Karen Headley's class donated the most goods and earned a popcorn party from PTO. The Stardust Hills Association, Millgrove Methodist Church and Cloverdale Christian Church made contributions to the school's food drive as well, allowing the school to give 41 baskets. The Cloverdale Elementary Student Council would like to remind everyone to save and contribute Box Tops for Education to the school as well. If students submit 10 box tops by Dec. 13, they can participate in a spirit day by wearing elf ears, reindeer antlers or Santa hats on Dec. 13. Cloverdale Elementary School welcomes Box Tops for Education from community members as well. (Courtesy photo)
