16 local realtors complete broker transition course

Sunday, December 8, 2013

Last year the Indiana Real Estate Licensing Commission announced changes to the requirements for holding an Indiana real estate license.

Previously a real estate agent could hold a aalesperson's license, while working under a licensed broker. With the changes, all licensed Indiana real estate salespersons must upgrade their license to broker status by July 1, 2014 by completing a 24-hour Indiana Broker Transition Course and passing an exam.

In order to obtain their real estate license in Indiana after July 1, 2014, future licensees will be required to take a 90-hour broker licensing course and pass an exam. All brokers will then be required to take 12 hours of continuing education each year to maintain their license.

The Putnam County Board Realtors announced that 16 local salespersons recently completed the 24-hour Broker Transition Course in Greencastle, allowing them to apply for their broker license.

Completing the course were: Jim Christy, Traci Dobson, Rita Goss and Emily Knuth of Collins Evans Real Estate, Greencastle; Jody Crum, Daniel Huber and Chris Ripperger of Coldwell Banker Putnam Real Estate Center, Greencastle; David Duncan of Century 21 Wheeler Realty, Rockville; Nora Kirby of Hoosier Homes and Land, Brazil; Mark Loudermilk and Linda Stearley of Century 21 Home Town Realty, Brazil; Jerry Pilman and Charlie Reberger of Emmert Realty, Brazil; Chris Skillern and Chris Williamson of F.C. Tucker Schneider Realty, Greencastle; and David Wood of Wood and Associates Real Estate, Greencastle.
