NP freshman split with Monrovia, Covenant

The North Putnam boys' freshman basketball team split a pair of games in recent weeks, beating visiting Monrovia 35-33 and losing at Covenant Christian 41-37.
A layup by Preston Porter in the final seconds helped the Cougars beat the Bulldogs. He and Kendall Jackson both had 10 points in that game.
Against the Warriors the Cougars battled back from a 10-point halftime deficit before coming up short. Porter, Jackson and Jordan Bean all had 10 points to tie for the team-lead.
