2013 Kids Xmas Party a success

Thursday, December 19, 2013

To the Editor:

On Saturday, Dec. 14, the Greencastle Sons of the American Legion Squadron 58, along with the Women's Auxiliary, held our annual breakfast (sausage, pancakes, milk and orange juice) and Christmas party with Santa.

We had 42 kids registered with nearly 10 adults. Our Legion Hall was packed.

Each child's name was read, along with their parent and/or grandparent. They got to sit on Santa's lap, talk with him, received an age-appropriate gift and a stocking full of candy.

Everyone had a great time. We received many thanks on our Xmas party. What a beautiful white Christmas day.

We would like to thank Bob Whiteside for doing an outstanding job as the "Man in Red"; Tony Sparks, Rod Gaffney, Jeff Bray and Mark Voltec for cooking breakfast; and a big thank you to our servers and Santa's helpers, Joan Clifford, Donna Ford, Kathy Sparks, Kathy Davis, Ellie Rudicle, Jane Rector and Kathine.

This Xmas party would not have been possible without the help of everyone. Thanks for a job well done.
