Offering a wide variety of collectible foreign coins and paper money, Greencastle Coins and Collectibles, located at 502 S. Bloomington St., will open its doors today. Owner Todd Detro, a Greencastle native, obtains his stock of collectibles by attending more than 25 trade shows a year. By opening his own shop, Detro is hoping to bring another business to the community. The store will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. and weekends by appointment only. The Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce officially welcomed the new business to town with a Thursday, Dec. 19 ribbon cutting. Those in attendance included (from left) Chamber Executive Director Tammy Amor, Darrell Detro, Todd Detro, City Council member Jinsie Bingham, Greencastle Mayor Sue Murray, Kim Mabie of Black Diamond Contractors, Bret Hurley of Bret Hurley Construction and city attorney Lori Hardwick.
