Norma J. Stwalley

Norma J. Stwalley, 71, of Lake Wales, Fla., formerly of Greencastle, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013 at the Winter Haven Hospital in Winter Haven, Fla.

Born July 18, 1942 in Greencastle, she was the daughter of the late Herald and Ruth (Poynter) Stanger.

Norma is survived by her husband of 49 years David E Stwalley; son Brian D. Stwalley and wife Kimberly of Dillsburg, Pa.; grandchildren Drew, Lauren and Brianna Stwalley; and sister Mary Susan Muir of Rockville.

Norma graduated from Greencastle High School in 1960, received a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University and a master's degree from DePauw University.

She taught home economics for 15 years in Indiana at Speedway Middle School, South Putnam and Greencastle Middle School. Norma retired after 15 years from the Pennsylvania Department of Education in Harrisburg, Pa.

Norma was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Haines City, Fla. and past president of the Lake Wales Christian Women Connection.

She enjoyed her family, RV-ing, volunteering at Bok Tower Gardens, gardening, her kitty cats, Women's Bible Study and friends at Lake Ashton where she lived.
