Francis Mildred Blanks Wheeler

Francis Mildred Blanks Wheeler, 87, Greencastle, passed away on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 at the Putnam County Hospital.

She was born on Sept. 26, 1926 at Nashville, Tenn., and was the daughter of the late Elgie Eugene and Annie Lorene (Ballinger) Byrd.

She married Thomas Burton Wheeler on Jan. 1, 1988, and he survives.

She is also survived by her children, Linda Sebree and husband Charles "Skip," Greencastle, Steve Blanks and wife Linda, Nashville, Tenn., and Diane Pullum and husband Steve, Converse; her brothers, Elgie Luther Byrd and wife Dean, Dickson, Tenn., and Robert Wayne Byrd and wife Celia, Donelson, Tenn.; her brother-in-law, Frank D. Wheeler, Nashville, Tenn.; her grandchildren, Joshua Sebree and wife Heidi, Jared Sebree and wife Hallie, Stephen Sebree, John Blanks and wife Jennifer, Seth Blanks and wife Amanda and Jonathan Pullum and wife Leila; and 16 great-grandchildren

She was a member of the Greencastle Church of Christ, Ellis Church of Christ, Linton, and the Franklin Road Church of Christ, Nashville, Tenn.

She was an accountant for the W. L. Hailey Construction Co. at Nashville, and retired after 22 years of service.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13 at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13 at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Woodlawn Memorial Park at Nashville, Tenn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ariel Irene McDonald, and her brother-in-law, Frank M. McDonald.
