RSVP deadline for Jan. 25 Chamber dinner event nears

Sunday, January 12, 2014

Friday, Jan. 17 is the final day to turn in RSVPs for the Jan. 25 annual dinner of the Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce.

The event, which will kick off the local Chamber's 60th year, will be at the Dixie Chopper Business Center at the Putnam County Airport off Ballard Lane this year.

Tickets for the dinner are $30 per person or $240 for a table of eight.

Table sponsors are still being sought for the dinner at $35 per table (you do not have to attend to be a table sponsor). Chamber members sponsoring a table will get a table-top tent acknowledgement and a special mention in the program and during the festivities.

Those interested in being table sponsors are asked notify Chamber Executive Director Tammy Johnson by Monday, Jan. 20.

"This is the Chamber's 60th anniversary year, and we look forward to kicking it off at this event," Johnson said. "We are very proud of this accomplishment and look forward to this celebration with our members."

The evening will begin with the 6-7:30 p.m. Duke Energy Social Hour.

A cash bar and appetizers will be available and the Ivy Tech Community College Silent Auction will be going on during that time.

Silent auction donations are still being accepted through Jan. 20. The Chamber asks that items be valued at $75 or more. Donors will be listed in the evening's event program as well as on a professionally prepared sign on the silent auction tables.

The annual dinner, which will follow the extended social hour at 7:30 p.m., is sponsored by North Salem State Bank. The meal will be prepared by the staff of the Final Approach Restaurant.

Following dinner, outgoing Chamber President Scott Herrick will address the gathering, followed by his successor, Bret Hurley, while the 2013 Putnam County Citizen of the Year and Chamber Board of Director of the Year will be announced.

For any questions on the event, persons may call Johnson at 653-4517 or e-mail to gchamber@gogreencastle.com.
