Richard L. 'Rich' Stout

Richard L. "Rich" Stout, 68, of Greencastle passed away on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.

Rich was born on Aug. 20, 1945 in Putnam County to Ira B. and Alice E. Brown Stout.

He was a 1963 graduate of Greencastle High School, and served his country in the United States Army.

Rich was the owner of S & S Lumber Co. in Cloverdale for many years, and devoted his career to older home restoration in the past several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Joan Hatfield; a brother, Stanley Stout; and a grandson, Dustin Stout.

Surviving are his wife, Ginger; two sons, Brad Stout and companion Janette, and Kerry Stout and wife Wendy; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Ellen Powell; two brothers-in-law, Gayle Raisor and wife Jodi and Greg Powell and wife Crystal; four grandchildren, Holly, Ocean, Austin and Jesse; one great-grandchild, Liam; three nieces, two nephews; three great-nieces; one great-nephew; and two brothers, Ira Stout and Gary Stout.

Private graveside services with military honors will be conducted at Flatwoods Cemetery, which Rich had worked tirelessly at restoring.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle.
