Connie Lawson to visit Rotary Club, Asbury Towers Wednesday

Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson will visit Putnam County Wednesday. She will be the keynote speaker at the noon Greencastle Rotary Club meeting.

She will speak with members of Rotary about her office's efforts to improve financial literacy.

Lawson also will speak with senior citizens at Asbury Towers about how to avoid investment scams at 1:30 p.m. at the 102 W. Poplar St. site.

Seniors can be prime target for con artists who prey on retirement nest eggs. Through education and awareness, all Hoosiers can take steps to protect their hard-earned money.

The Secretary of State's office provides financial literacy presentations through Indiana Investment Watch, an educational program designed to increase financial literacy in Hoosiers.
