City Police

Two recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 5:20 p.m. Sunday, Henry Zimmer, 27, Greencastle, was arrested on North Jackson Street by Sgt. Charles Inman.

Arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine and public intoxication, Zimmer was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

-- At 5:52 p.m. Friday, James Coy, 36, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Matt Huffman on a Putnam County warrant for failure to stop after a property-damage accident.

Arrested at a Queenswood Court residence, Coy was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

Meanwhile, a hit-and-run accident occurred Saturday morning at the intersection of Shadowlawn Avenue and Arlington Street, Officer Albert Epple reported.

At 11:22 a.m., David Norris Jr., 22, Bainbridge, was eastbound on Arlington Street, driving a 2009 Chevrolet Impala, when a northbound small silver car reportedly ran the stopsign doing approximately 50 mph. The suspect vehicle struck the front of the Norris car as it entered the intersection, and left the scene, Epple reported.

Damage in the mishap was estimated at $2,500-$5,000.

Two citations were issued to one driver during a recent traffic stop by Reserve Officer Heather Davies.

-- At 2:01 a.m. Jan. 15, Jarryd McCoy, 23, Greencastle, was cited for driving with a suspended license and having a false or fictitious registration. McCoy was stopped on North College Avenue.
