Tiger Cub wrestlers fall to Warriors

Greencastle's wrestling squad took to the home mats for the final time this season to honor seniors Riley Jayne and Aaron Langdon Thursday night against Danville.

Though the meet went by in a blur, as the Warriors came away 50-22 winners, Tiger Cub coach Logan Kuhne said much of the accomplishments this season revolved around the work of both seniors.

"Riley Jayne has been one of the hardest working guys on this team for years," Langdon said. "He's worked his tail off for this team. Aaron Langdon has been a staple of the team all year and has done a great job this year wrestling against tough opponents."

Langdon finished his season with a pin of Danville's Brock Martin at 170 pounds, while Ryley Cook won a major decision victory over Tyler Wheatley at 106 pounds 18-9. Joe January and Trae Carrington each picked up forfeits.

Jayne fell in his matchup at 145 pounds against Zach Freeman, while James Brown, Andrew Ruiz, Mark Coghill and Michael Harsh ended the regular season with losses.

With the regular season completed, Kuhne said the squad would turn to the Avon sectional and seeing who would be moving on from that point forward.

"We had some really great moments and some moments where I was disappointed in our guys," Kuhne said. "We're going to have to use this, watch tape and really start focusing on our sectional opponents.

"Everybody has little things they can improve on. At this point, it's about how individuals perform and how far they can go in the state tournament."
