Jack Richard Sutherlin, 84, of Brazil, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 at Regional Hospital with his family by his side.

Jack was born June 21, 1929 in Putnam County, the son of the late Dennis and Sylvia Sutherlin. Jack graduated from Greencastle High School. He worked as a sales manager at A&P, salesman at Keebler Cookie Co. and managed Flick's Family Restaurant.

Jack married the love of his life, Phyllis Beck, on June 1, 1952, who preceded him in death 12 years earlier on Jan. 23, 2002.

He was known to enjoy a good poker game every now and then. He also enjoyed going to Ellis Park to watch horse races, and watching Cubs baseball.

Jack is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Phyllis Sutherlin; his parents; stepmother, Edith Sutherlin and sister, Peg O'Hair.

He is survived by; his children, Brenda Patrick and husband Mike of Parker, Colo., Rhonda Brown of Brazil, Mickey Sutherlin and wife Ricki of Cloverdale, Chris Sutherlin and Jerri Lynn Johnson Eder of Brazil; grandchildren, Traci and Eric Brown, Kobe and Hunter Sutherlin; great-grandchildren, Benton and Avery Hoskins; siblings Norman Sutherlin, Dallas Sutherlin, Mary Jane Owings; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A special thank you goes to Cloverleaf Nursing Home for everything they have done for Jack.

Service will be Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. at Lawson-Miller Chapel , Brazil, with Pastor Jeff Bridgewater officiating.

Burial will follow at Bee Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 27 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
