Second in a series of Putnam Pictorial History books due
The Banner Graphic is publishing the second in a series of Putnam County Pictorial History books this year.
We plan for this edition to exhibit what we do best--reflecting on the people, places and events that make Putnam County such a great place to live. The heirloom-quality, coffee-table book is exactly like the initial book "Putnam County Indiana, Looking Back," featuring images of Putnam County.
The second publication will focus on events from 1940 through 1980, but we need your help.
If you have photos of days gone by between 1940 and 1980 in our county, will you share them with us for the continuation of this unique project?
We are looking for photographs of people, including family members, clubs and organizations, church groups, school class photos, commerce and industry employee groups and more. We are also looking for images of business and industry, both exterior and interior.
Photographs of street scenes and transportation are also welcome as are events, parades, celebrations, sports and recreation, public service and just about anything that happened in our county from 1940 through 1980.
We are looking for the actual photographs, not newspaper clippings. Postcards will work as well. In all cases, images will be scanned and returned to you while you wait during scanning sessions we plan to schedule in July.
Here's the catch: We need to hear from you now. In order for us to move forward with this project we need to hear from you right away. Give us a call and let us know what you have that you would like to share and have included in this project.
The book will feature roughly 200 images and the bulk of them will come from you, our readers.
