The Area 30 Career Center culinary arts class will be putting on a special Valentine's Day lunch at the Ivy Gallery restaurant, during which several items students have been perfecting for competition will be introduced.

The Friday, Feb. 14 lunch will also serve as a fundraiser for the student competition, instructor Mary Anne Birt said.

Seating at the Ivy Gallery, located within the career center in the old IBM building off Indianapolis Road at Calbert Way, begins at 11:45 a.m. and runs until 12:30 p.m.

The menu will feature a layered shrimp salad or a pirogue with spicy tomato sauce, followed by an entrée of either a duck breast or an American-cut pork chop, along with braised cabbage with bacon and other options.

Dessert options will be either a triple-layer chocolate cake or chocolate raspberry mousse.

Cost of the meal will be $12 and an RSVP is a must. To make reservations or to get more information about the menu, persons may call 653-3515 or send an email to mbirt@area30.k12.in.us.
