PCH receives second national recognition

Tuesday, January 28, 2014

Putnam County Hospital has been selected as one of 11 Rural and Critical Access Hospitals from across the nation to participate in the American Hospital Association's Rural Health Care Leadership Conference Feb. 10-12 in Phoenix, Ariz.

The hospital was selected following submission of the organization's efforts to eliminate the risk for harm and improve patient safety, outcomes and experience.

While there are unique challenges to health care delivery in the rural setting, recognition such as this is considered a testament to the dedication and focus of rural health organizations in providing the highest level of care for those who grant the privilege to care for them.

This is the second national recognition Putnam County Hospital has received for this focused work.

The first was the selection as one of 30 health care organizations of all sizes from across the nation to present their story as part of the American Hospital Association Safety Summit and Quality Roadmap meetings in July 2013.

"We gratefully recognize that the gains achieved through our Partnership for Patients work is the direct result of the positive collaboration and talents from many PCH team members," PCH Quality Coordinator Annette Handy, RN, commented.

Putnam County Hospital continues its commitment to patient care excellence through a renewed partnership in the Indiana Hospital Association Coalition for Care Hospital Engagement Network for 2014.
