RICHARD W. "DICK" BEATTY

RICHARD W. "DICK" BEATTY, a 1960 Greencastle High School graduate and professor of human resource strategy at Rutgers University was recently named one of HR's most 20 most influential thinkers of 2013 by HR Magazine.

Beatty received his B.A. from Hanover College, his M.B.A. from Emory University and his Ph.D. from Washington University. He is active in executive education.

He is a core faculty member at the University of Michigan's executive education program as well as executive director of Rutgers' Global Executive Master's in Human Resource Leadership program.

He has also presented executive education programs at Cornell, Pittsburgh, Wharton, Dartmouth, Utah State, and the Indian School of Business (India).

LAREN SANFORD of Greencastle, a freshman majoring in nursing, was named to the dean's list for the fall semester of 2013 at MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Ill. He is the son of Jim and Sara Sanford of Greencastle.

To be named to the Dean's List, a student must achieve a 3.5 grade-point average for the term and be a full-time student taking at least 12 credit hours.

RACHEL JERVIS of Reelsville, a junior majoring in music business, has been named to the dean's list at Greenville College for the fall 2013 semester.

To qualify for the Dean's List, sophomores, juniors and seniors must have a 3.7 GPA.

Greenville College is a four-year accredited Christian liberal arts school with more than 1,400 undergraduate and graduate students.

HANNAH SERLIN, a native of Greencastle, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Ithaca College's School of Humanities and Sciences. The degree was awarded in December 2013.

Located in New York's Finger Lakes region, Ithaca College is home to 6,100 undergraduate and 400 graduate students.
