Karen D. Cox

Karen D. Cox, age 72, of Greencastle, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014.

Born Sept. 25, 1941 in Roachdale, she was the daughter of Ed and Helen (Deane) Bennington and a graduate of Roachdale High School.

Karen married Jerry L. Cox on July 12, 1964, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 2006.

Karen had worked several years in the deli and bakery departments of the Marsh and Kroger grocery stores in Greencastle, retiring in 2003.

She was a member of the Greencastle Bowling Hall of Fame.

She is survived by her sons, Andy (Sue Ann) Cox, Anthony (Stephanie) Cox, Aaron (Jennifer) Cox and Alex (Dusty A.) Cox; three brothers, Gary (Lois) Bennington, Everett Bennington and Dale (fiancé', Alice Hacker) Bennington; and grandchildren Brittany, Kaelynn, Corbin, Lena, Madeline, Wyatt, London, Jake and Jerra.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Jerry.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
