DePauw's Adam Cohen named finalist for 2014 Inspire Award

Greencastle City Council President Adam Cohen, who serves as DePauw University men's swimming coach, is a finalist for a 2014 Inspire Award.

Cohen also serves as a part-time coordinator of the university's Center for Spiritual Life and part-time instructor in kinesiology at DePauw.

Presented by College Mentors for Kids, the Inspire Awards are dedicated to recognizing outstanding mentors in the workplace and community.

Cohen is one of five finalists in the Education and Nonprofit category, one of seven 2014 Inspire Award groupings.

He was nominated by Kyle Kerrigan, a 2010 DePauw graduate and former captain of the Tiger swim team. Kerrigan also served on the Greencastle Park Board for a time prior to taking being named business development manager at Goodwill Industries of Central Indiana.

Winners will be announced Feb. 27, at an awards luncheon at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in downtown Indianapolis. Former U.S. Sen. Richard Lugar will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award in mentoring during the luncheon.
