Thomas seeking re-election to Putnam County Council
Darrel Thomas is seeking re-election to the Putnam County Council in the new District 3. He is on the Republican ballot in the May 6 primary.
Thomas retired after serving 32 years with the Purdue Extension Service.
He has been active in community activities, serving as president of the P.I.E. Coalition and as president of the Putnam County Leadership Academy.
Thomas has also served on the Greencastle Park Board and the Putnam County Planning Commission.
He is a People Pathways member, a member of the Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce, has served on the Putnam County Community Foundation Finance Committee and has been president of the State National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association.
Thomas attends First Baptist Church in Greencastle.
A veteran, Thomas served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam.
Thomas lives in Greencastle with this wife Diana. They have two daughters, Kara Hazlett (husband Matt) and Lisa Chadd (husband Mike). They have three granddaughters, Kayla Chadd, Rachel Chadd and Joselyn Hazlett.
