Cultivating love's confusion

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

Guest director Joachim Schamberger (center) goes over a scene with DePauw University senior music students Blake Lampton and Elleka Okerstrom during a rehearsal for the Mozart opera "La finta giardiniera," a comic opera on the confusion of love. Loosely translated, the title means "The Secret Gardener." The DePauw Opera's 21st-century production begins Thursday and runs through Sunday in Moore Theatre of the Green Center for the Performing Arts. Both Lampton and Okerstrom sing their shared roles during performances on Thursday and Saturday. Thursday through Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m., with the Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. General admission tickets, priced at $7, are available at depauw.edu/music/tickets. Admission is free for students, children and seniors over 65.
