Thomas Robert 'Big Tom' Nearhoof

Thomas Robert "Big Tom" Nearhoof, 25, Cloverdale, passed away on Feb. 23, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospital at Indianapolis.

He was born on March 9, 1988 at Hoffman Estates, Ill., and was the son of Keldakay (Knott) Nearhoof and Ronald E. Nearhoof.

He is survived by his mother, Keldakay Nearhoof Sisk and dad Dean, Cloverdale; his father, Ronald E. Nearhoof and wife Vicki, Cloverdale; his siblings, Jamie Sisk, Poland; Joseph T. Knott, Akeley, Minn., Jason Sisk, Bloomfield, Nathan Sisk, Ulm, Mont., Aaron Sisk, Poland, J.J. Testerman, Indianapolis, and Cindelle Mills, Indianapolis; his grandmother, Jean Holtz, Indianapolis; his grandfather, Robert O. Sisk, Wanamaker; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends from all over the country.

He was a full-time student at Ivy Tech, majoring in business management.

He was a 2007 cumulative honors graduate of Cloverdale High School, where he played trumpet in band and participated in baseball and wrestling.

While in high school he worked at KFC and Dollar General. He had been employed at Great Dane at Brazil as a Plazm cutter and also had been employed in the family business at Echocide Industrial Water, LLC and Black Hawk Campground.

He loved his family and friends first then his music, playing pool, fishing, hunting, camping and Xbox.

He gave the gift of live as an organ donor and the gift of love and laughter to all who know him.

Memorial services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28 at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28 at the funeral home.

Interment will be at a later date at Akeley, Minn.
