Stephen A. Wainman Sr.

Stephen A. Wainman Sr., 71, of Greencastle, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Putnam County Hospital.

He was born on July 17, 1942 in Edwardsport, Ind., to Neal T. Wainman and Louis Page Wainman.

Stephen was preceded in death by two sisters, Neala Stoelting, and Jan Curry; his father, Neal Wainman, and his mother, Louis Page-Breckner.

Surviving are his sister, Kay Core, Garden Grove, Calif.; daughter, Lisa Woodall and son, Steve Wainman, both of Greencastle; and five grandchildren, Justin Woodall, Stevie Woodall, Kelsey Wainman, Hannah Wainman and Abbie Wainman.

Stephen was a 41-year veteran of PSI, now Duke Energy, and a very active member in several sports throughout his life.

Also known as "Dad" to the Putnam County community, he was a tremendous support to his family and a very strong individual that had a major impact on everyone who knew him.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 7 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastor Donnie Watson officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 7 from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery where he will be laid to rest next to the true love of his life, Patricia K. Wainman.
