Every year Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Indiana (BBBS) acknowledges one outstanding "Big" at DePauw University for the work he or she does with a child in the Cloverdale Elementary and Middle schools.

DePauw "Bigs" are students who volunteer their time to change the life of a child for the better forever.

This year BBBS has selected one special volunteer, Meghan Geiseker, who has been a volunteer "Big" in the school program at Cloverdale Elementary School for more than three years, and has been matched with Little Sister Savannah for more than two years.

The pair loves to share new experiences and spend time together in the community. Upon leaving for summer recess last year, Meghan and Savannah spent their time together decorating picture frames for a photograph from the time they first met.

Both Meghan and Savannah "had a lot of fun being creative and goofing off with each other."

More than anything, Geiseker has served as a friend and role model for Savannah. She decided to become a Big because she knew of the impact that Big Brothers Big Sisters has made nationally and wanted to give back to the community where she would be spending her next four years.

According to Savannah's father, "Savannah looks up to Meghan and looks forward to seeing her every week. Meghan is a wonderful role model and really takes the time to listen to Savannah.

"Big Brothers Big Sisters is a wonderful program," he added, "and Savannah is lucky to have a Big Sister like Meghan."
