Marjorie Sorensen Sisson

Marjorie Sorensen Sisson, 100, of Greencastle, passed away March 7, 2014.

She was born in Nisland, S.D., on Sept. 7, 1913.

She graduated from South Dakota State with a BS degree in home economics and earned MS and PhD degrees from Purdue University.

Her parents, husband and all six siblings preceded her in death.

Surviving are her two daughters, Eleanor (Ellie) Ypma of Greencastle, and Dorothy and husband Bill Garrison of Abbot, Maine; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

After moving to Indiana in the 1940s she has worked at Purdue University, taught at West Lafayette Junior High School and served as housemother for Phi Delta Theta at DePauw University.

She will be interred with her parents and two brothers in Pine Hill Cemetery, Belle Fourche, S.D.

There will be no visitation.
