252 students attended ninth CHS livestock judging contest

CLOVERDALE -- On Saturday, March 8 the Cloverdale High School FFA hosted 252 students from all over Indiana for its ninth annual livestock judging invitational.

Students were called upon to evaluate nine classes of livestock and then defend their placings to the officials, who were from Lakeland Junior College in Mattoon, Ill.

The contest was co-chaired by Cloverdale senior Heather Goss and junior Collin Pennington.

The top 10 students at the contest in the senior reasons division were:

1st -- Matt Marion.

2nd - Megan Marion.

3rd - Mark Fletcher.

4th - Emily Burris.

5th -- Leah Jacobs.

6th- Shelby Benell.

7th - Kaleb Rule.

8th - Braydon Poulson.

9th - Eli Nielsen.

10th - Lane Hacker (from South Putnam High School).

"We would like to thank everyone that volunteered their time and or donated to the contest in order to make it a huge success," Cloverdale FFA advisers Chelsey Meluch and Tiffany Douglass praised.
