DePauw center Tommy Fernitz was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division III All-District Second Team for the Great Lakes region, selected by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division III.

Fernitz led the Tigers with 14.8 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. He led the North Coast Athletic Conference in rebounds per game and field goal percentage, shooting 62.9 percent from the floor.

The First Team All-NCAC selection had 52 blocks this season breaking the previous school record of 50. He was named NCAC player of the week January 6, for his performance at the Tampa Bay Shootout and earned a spot on the NCAC All-Tournament Team.

Fernitz was just two rebounds shy of becoming the first Tiger to average double-digit rebounds since Kirk Kitzinger (11.6) in the 1979-80 season. He had a career-high 22 points against Kalamazoo College (12/30/13) and later grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds against Ohio Wesleayan (1/18/14).

The Tigers finished with a 19-8 overall record and a 13-5 NCAC record, good for a tie for second place in the regular season standings.
