Realtors slate spring bingo fundraiser event for April 12

The Putnam County Board of Realtors has scheduled its annual Spring Bingo fundraiser for Saturday, April 12 at the Putnam County Fairgrounds.

Participants wlll play 18 bingo games for more than $1,000 in prizes.

Doors open at 5 p.m. with early bird games at 6 and the main games beginning at 6:30.

Advance tickets are $15 and are available at local real estate offices. Tickets at the door will be $20.

The bingo money raised will go into an established scholarship endowment with the Putnam County Community Foundation. The endowment was started several years ago, and the realtors have since awarded more than $10,000 in scholarships.

Proceeds of the bingo events are earmarked for that endowment, so that over time the fund can grow to be self-sustaining, and the group can increase the amount of the scholarships awarded each year.

This is fifth year for the bingo event, and in May the realtors will be awarding four $500 scholarships to Putnam County High School seniors.
