Helen Gruca DeMoss

Helen Gruca DeMoss, 86, of Greencastle, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014.

She was born on June 24, 1927 in Indianapolis to Floryan Gruca and Mildred Gryga Gruca.

Helen was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and devoutly prayed the rosary.

Helen was an avid bowler and a very competitive card player.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald E. DeMoss; and three siblings, Walter Groves, Edward Gruca and Wilma Styczen.

Surviving are her son, Russell E. Hardesty and wife Judy of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Jeff Hardesty and Marlene D'Amato and husband Darrell; and four great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 11 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 202 E. Washington St., Greencastle, with Father Darvin Winters officiating.

Private interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 10 from 4-8 p.m. at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m.
