Lighting one candle each for himself and children Aubrey and Logan, Brent Summers takes part in the candle ceremony Tuesday night at the Pinwheels for Prevention Garden Planting Tuesday at Gobin United Methodist Church. The child abuse prevention event included remarks from Shelly Chadd from the Department of Child Services, Putnam Circuit Court Judge Matthew Headley and keynote speaker Tina Cloer, DePauw graduate and CEO of the Children's Bureau. The event also featured an invocation and candle ceremony overseen by Rev. Bobby Hopper and a song from Carly Rhine. The evening closed with Putnam County Commissioner David Berry Proclaiming April as Child Abuse Prevention Month and the ringing of the bells.
