Charles F. Zimmerman

Charles F. Zimmerman, 83, of Coatesville, passed away Tuesday night, April 15, 2014 in Indianapolis.

Born Sept. 21, 1930 in St. Joseph, Mo., he was the son of Joseph Clarence Zimmerman and Lavetta Waugh Zimmerman.

He married Marilyn Ann Kersey, and she preceded him on Dec. 5, 2011.

Charles worked for 34 years for Allison Transmission in sales and service.

He was an avid gardener and tinkerer. He also loved stamp collecting. He was a member of the Reserve National Guard.

Survivors includes three sons, Greg Zimmerman and wife Sharon, California, Brent Zimmerman and wife Renata, Pittsboro, and David Zimmerman and wife Donna, Evansville; a daughter, Mindy Pieper and husband Allen, Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Preston Zimmerman, California, Logan Zimmerman, California, Nicole Zimmerman, Pittsboro, Ronnie Watson, Indianapolis, Christan Zimmerman, Evansville, and Tyler Zimmerman, Evansville; a sister, Carrol Patterson and husband Pat, Hartwell, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents and wife preceded him in death.

Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Bousley-Hays Funeral Home, Coatesville. Services will follow at 1p.m.

Burial will follow in the Stilesville Cemetery.
