Getting Down to Work

Friday, April 18, 2014
A front-end loader scrapes up remnants of the Indiana Street asphalt that was milled away Thursday afternoon as the reconstruction project begins in earnest between this corner at Seminary north to Washington Street at the courthouse square. Rieth-Riley Construction Co. workers will be tackling several elements of the project, including new curbs, sidewalks, and drainage improvements, over the next 3-1/2 months with an Aug. 6 completion date attached to the firm's $884,383 INDOT contract. After milling and subgrade work is complete, concrete work is expected to begin June 12 with curbs, approaches and ADA ramps addressed.
