Celebrate Earth Day event set April 23 at Deer Meadow

Sunday, April 20, 2014

The Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department is joining with West Central Solid Waste District, the Soil and Water Conservation Department, and Indiana's Department of Natural Resources to conduct a Celebrate Earth Day program.

Pooling their experts, supplies and desire to help save the planet they would like to share all that with area youth on Wednesday, April 23 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Deer Meadow Primary School cafeteria.

The cost per youth is $2 and that fee will cover handouts, giveaways, a snack and program supplies.

Through discussion, hands-on displays and crafts youngsters will be guided through several activities that show them how important it is to help our planet, our country, state, city and even our own backyards.

Parents are welcome to stay for the program and learn alongside their children.

Pre-registration is preferred, and forms are available at Greencastle City Hall, the Putnam County Museum, the Putnam County Public Library, Greencastle Pediatric Dentistry, or can be emailed to interested persons by sending a request to tscott@cityofgreencastle.com.
