City Police

A 44-year-old Coatesville man was arrested Wednesday night and charged with two Class D felony counts of public nudity after reportedly exposing himself to a female jogger near Cemetery and Keightly roads in Greencastle.

Ronald Dwayne Thacker was stopped by Putnam County Sheriff's Deputy Kyle Gibbons after his beige and silver Chevrolet truck was spotted near Walmart just after 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The initial call reporting a man with his pants down and exposing himself came in at 7:47 p.m., City Police reported.

The description of Thacker and his truck matched that from an incident reported at noon Saturday at Locust and Howard streets near the DePauw University campus when he allegedly exposed himself to a woman walking along the street.

After being stopped by Gibbons, Thacker was interrogated by GPD Det. Michael Collins and then lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

In addition to Gibbons and Collins, also assisting in the investigation were City Police Capt. Chris Jones, Officer Kyle Lee, Reserve Officer Jes Seipel and DePauw Officer Matt Demmings.

Meanwhile, two young women were arrested on theft charges in an alleged shoplifting incident at Walmart.

Officer Darrel Bunten was called to the store along Indianapolis Road Wednesday afternoon and arrested Brideget Marie McDaniel, 20, Greencastle, and Kaitlin Ann Tuminella, 18, Reelsville, for theft.

Both women are alleged to have placed numerous items in their purses, and after moving to an isolated area of the store, reportedly removed the original packaging, put the items back in their handbags and tried to walk out the door without paying.

McDaniel reportedly had $266 worth of stolen items in her possession. She allegedly took clothes, sandals, hair accessories, a handbag and CD soundtracks.

Tuminella reportedly took $97.68 worth of items from Walmart, including clothes, jewelry and an MP3 player.

Both women were lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

Also arrested recently by City Police was Casey Douglas Bunten, 26, Greencastle, who was apprehended on trespassing charges Tuesday night at Indiana and Franklin streets.

Officer Nick Eastham jailed Bunten for violating a no-trespassing order in place against him at Moore's Bar.

Bunten reportedly violated that order by showing up on the back patio of the Indiana Street restaurant and bar.
