Grounds for Support

A check for $1,000, representing tip jar collections at the Greencastle Starbucks, is presented to Stephanie White (second from left) and her five-year-old son Austin by Starbucks team leader Erin Baker along with Deb Hofmann (left) and Chelsea Steele (right). A 5K Run/Walk fundraiser on Saturday, May 10 is set in support of Austin, a Deer Meadow Primary School student recently diagnosed with a terminal disease. The event is designed to support to Austin his family, to raise funds for medical and transportation expenses and to promote awareness of Adrenoleukodystrophy. The 5K will begin at 9 a.m. May 10 (with registration at 8) at Big Walnut Sports Park. Another fundraiser, a "fitness-a-thon" sponsored by Dance Workshop, is set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. May 17 at Deer Meadow. It is a donation-only event with information available on the Dance Workshop Facebook page.
