Woodworking workshop set for Saturday at fairgrounds
The International Wood Collectors Society (IWCS) and Purdue Extension Putnam County are partnering to host a wood science workshop on Saturday, May 3 in Harris Hall at the Putnam County Fairgrounds.
The meeting is designed to provide education and information for both adults and those enrolled in the wood science and wood craft 4-H project areas. Demonstrations on wood turning, wood finishing and other techniques will be shown.
Youth attending will have the opportunity to learn how to use a lathe and make a screwdriver.
Doors open at 8 a.m. There will be complimentary coffee and doughnuts while lunch will be available by a 4-H groups throughout the mid-day.
A wood auction and door prizes will begin at noon. Demonstrations will occur throughout the morning.
