Dorothy J. Lawler Ford, 88, of Roachdale, loving mother and wife, passed away at Mill Pond Health Campus on Monday evening, May 12, 2014.

Dorothy was born on Nov. 27, 1925 at Brazil, Ind., to Walter H. and Glenna Butts Jackson.

She was a member of the Roachdale Christian Church where she sang in the choir for many years and belonged to the Women's Fellowship. She was also a member of the Putnam County Hospital Auxiliary, a charter member of the Town and Country Home Ec Club and Roachdale Order of Eastern Star Chapter 247.

Dorothy graduated from Brazil High School and the St. Anthony Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a school nurse at North Putnam High School and the Putnam County Hospital.

She married Malcolm A. Lawler and after his death in 1992 she married A. Franklin Ford on May 29, 1999, and he survives.

Other survivors include four daughters, Carol Lawler of New Bern, N.C., Barbara Campbell of Thorntown, Beverly (Ellery) Girard, Nokomis, Fla., and Diana (Tom) Pringle Dansville, Mich.; one son, Dale (Lori) Lawler of Roachdale; bonus children Nancy (Steve) Michael of Greencastle, and Nelson (Sunny) Ford of Evansville; 13 grandchildren Jessica Malmquist, Adam Malmquist, Katie Malmquist-Harris, Elizabeth Campbell-Rike, Elaine Campbell, Jeffery Campbell, Brittany Pringle, Nicklaus Pringle, Madeliene Lawler, Ethan Lawler, Conner Ford, Peter Michael and Mary Ann Michael, nine Great Grandchildren and sister-in-law Margaret Jackson of Brazil.

She was preceded in death by one son, David Lawler; brothers Bernard, Paul and Harlan Jackson; sister Gladys McDonald, and son-in-law Gary Campbell.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Roachdale Christian Church. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Rev. Andy Simkins will officiate and burial will be at Roachdale Cemetery.
