Kiwanis appreciates pancake breakfast support

Thursday, May 15, 2014

To the Editor:

The Kiwanis Club of Greencastle thanks the many people who attended and those who supported our pancake breakfast on May 10.

We served nearly 200 meals. All proceeds will be used for Kiwanis community projects. These include Riley Hospital for Children, college scholarships for local students, Putnam County Relay for Life, the Reality Experience and others. Past efforts have included the Kiwanis Room at the Putnam County Public Library.

There were many people and organizations that helped in this year's effort. Thanks to: The Greencastle Moose Lodge for donating the use of their wonderful facility; Greencastle Key Club for their work; Chuck Phillips of No-Sail Splash Guard Co. in Fincastle for donating the advertising yard signs; McDonald's, Arby's, Kroger, the Inn at DePauw, Asbury Towers and Mill Pond Health Campus for food donations; the Banner-Graphic for good placement of our advertisement; Old National Bank on Indiana Street for the use of their basement for storage of our equipment.

It is through the support of the community that Kiwanis is able to fulfill its mission "to change the world one child and one community at a time."
