Vincent H. 'Vince' Wallace

Vincent H. "Vince" Wallace, 68, of Greencastle, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2014.

Vince was born in Lima, Ohio on April 13, 1946 to Vincent L. Wallace and Lucille Fowler Wallace.

Vince and a team from New Bremen, Ohio, started the Crown Equipment Co. facility in 1996. Vince and his team are largely responsible for Crown's success in Greencastle. The site now employs more than 400 people.

Vince also designed one of the lift trucks that is still in production. He retired in 2012 from Crown Equipment, where he served as plant manager.

Vince loved softball and umpired ASA softball and NCAA softball, including the NCAA Softball World Series.

Surviving are his children, Stephanie Leasure of Columbus, Ohio, Lisa Parker and husband Glen of Greencastle, Joshua D. Wallace of Tampa, Fla., Vincent J. Wallace of Greencastle, and Jana L. Boggess and husband Jeff of Greencastle; close friend, Katherine Wallace of Greencastle; and 12 grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 20 at Boone Hutcheson Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 19 from 4-8 p.m. at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle.
