Open house Sunday to launch 53rd season of Playhouse

The 53rd season of Putnam County Playhouse will begin with an open house on Sunday, June 1 at the Hazel Day Longden Theatre.

The public is invited to the event, which will take place from 1-3 p.m.

The season includes "Guys & Dolls" staged in June, "Steel Magnolias" in July, "Little Shop of Horrors" in August, and "The Man Who Came to Dinner" in September.

Season tickets and individual tickets will be on sale at the open house. Season tickets are $35, and single-session tickets are $10 each.

Corporate sponsors for the season include First National Bank, Rossok & Co. Pekin Insurance, Shuee and Sons and Almost Home.

Refreshments will be served. Musical entertainment will include songs from "Guys & Dolls," which opens on June 5.

Members of the board of directors will be present to answer questions and talk about PCPH.

Improvements to the facility will be on display to the public for the first time during the open house.

Currently serving on the Playhouse board are Michael McClaine, Linda Gjesvold, Jack Randall Earles, Mark Hammer and Kathryn Dory as officers and members Caroline Good, Brad Sandy, Ric McFadden, Jim Rambo, Dustin Bond, Meghan Armitage, Shelly McFadden, TJ Tincher, Drew Brattain, Bethany Bax and Sandi Rossok.
