County Jail

One person was booked into the Putnam County Jail earlyl Friday.

* At 1:13 a.m., Clarence William Gilmore, 26, Beech Grove, was charged with criminal mischief and criminal trespassing.

City Police

One recent property-damage accident was investigated by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 10:55 a.m. Monday, an accident was reported on Avenue C on the city's East Side.

Officer Darrel Bunten reported that Brittany Billings, 24, Greencastle, was backing a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am from her driveway when she was distracted by her children playing nearby and backed her car into a parked, unattended 1999 Ford F-350, owned by Terry Custis, Greencastle.

The Custis vehicle was parked just east of the home at 1035 Avenue C when it was struck in the passenger's side doors, Officer Bunten reported.

Total damage in the mishap was estimated in excess of $5,000.

One recent traffic citation was issued by city officers.

-- At 7:32 p.m. Monday, Brittney Thompson, 24, Greencastle, was stopped by Officer Kyle Lee at Woodhaven and South streets. Thompson was cited for having a false or fictitious registration.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department has responded to several calls.

* At 4:22 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, GFD was called to 107 Hanna St. in response to a fire alarm. The alarm had been triggered due to smoking.

* At 2:56 p.m. on Friday, May 30, GFD was dispatched to a fire alarm at 303 S. Locust St. and upon arrival was determined to have been caused from construction.
