County rivals battle before golf sectional

CLOVERDALE -- The Greencastle boys' golf team netted its best 18-hole score of the year when it beat South Putnam 293-383 Tuesday. The match was at Clover Meadows Golf Course.

Alec Davis scored two under par with 70 and Luke Brotherton broke even with 72. Jake Buis and Tanner Dean also scored well, recording scores of 74 and 77 respectively.

Derek Chestnut was the only score available from the Eagles' team and he had 77.

Both teams will meet again this weekend at the Crawfordsville Municipal Golf Course, when the two join North Putnam in the Crawfordsville sectional on June 6.
