Banner Graphic: What was different about this year as oppose to other years?

Rylan Mattocks: We really started o play together as a team and put better scores up.

BG: What makes you and your teammates so close?

RM: We just play a lot of golf together and we get along very very well.

BG: What were some of the team's goals coming into the year and what were your individual goals and how do you think those will change.

RM: Individually I wanted to shoot around a high 30 to low 40 on the year. As a team we were wanting to shoot around 160 that would put us pretty close for winning county and conference. .

BG: What is your favorite thing about golf?

RM: My favorite thing is probably putting just because it is so difficult but easy at the same time. It's so hard to get the line just perfectly right, but when you do it's just amazing the feeling of actually getting it in.

BG: What is the hardest thing about golf?

RM: The hardest thing for me is probably my drive. I am just not very consistent. I'm taking golf lessons right now so hopefully that'll help.

BG: What can golf and sports in general teach you about life?

RM: There's going to be ups and downs but in the end, you know it's always going to be ok either way.

BG: What are your goals after high school?

RM: Once I graduate high school I want to go to Rose-Hulman to hopefully become a computer hardware engineer.

BG: How long have you been interested in computers?

RM: Since probably my eighth-grade year, just video games mostly.
