Friday, June 13, 2014

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be conducting the Southern Indiana Leadership Camp at Spring Mill State Park in Mitchell on July 14-16. This is one of the nearly 450 camps in 40 states and 25 countries that are expected to reach approximately 50,000 athletes and coaches.

The Leadership Camp is open to students going into grades 7-12 and will focus on enabling students to become leaders in their local FCA Huddles, on their teams, in their schools, communities, and churches.

Coaches, adult huddle leaders and volunteers are also welcome to attend the training especially designed for them and their roles in FCA. The camp will feature Colts Community Spokesperson and Iraq War hero Josh Bleil and former Chicago Bears and IU Football Chaplain, Steve Conner, will be leading several sessions.

Current and former college athletes will also be involved in the camp.

"We are excited about the speakers and volunteers involved in our Leadership Camp. Spring Mill State Park and the Inn are both excellent facilities and will offer our campers a wonderful experience", Southern Indiana FCA Area Director Dave Hudson said. "FCA camps can be life changing for those who attend."

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be conducting its 58th year of summer camps in 2014, and this year's theme, "All In", will allow coaches and athletes to dig into the Bible and develop spiritual core values.

A sold-out athlete never wavers in competition. A sold-out athlete doesn't look back. A sold-out athlete is consumed by a single goal. When an athlete is "All In", body, mind and spirit, there are no limits on what he or she can accomplish.

To be "All In" requires a few things. It requires total surrender of your plan. It requires a complete commitment to the goal. It requires absolute trust in the coach. It requires the courage to go big or go home. It requires a leap of faith. A sold-out relationship with Jesus Christ requires you to be "All In"--body, mind and spirit.

Every thought, word and action is to glorify the Savior. No looking back, it's time to take a leap of faith and commit 100% to your Coach, Jesus Christ. When you are "All In" body, mind and spirit, there is no limit to what God can accomplish through you. This life-changing impact has been an integral part of FCA Camps since the first camp in Estes Park, Colorado in 1956. Fifty-eight seasons later, FCA Camps are now reaching athletes and coaches in the United States from coast to coast as well as a growing international camp calendar.
