James Franklin Perdue

James Franklin Perdue, 64, of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014.

Born April 11, 1950 in San Antonio, Texas, he was the son of Jessie and Virginia L. (Sanders) Perdue.

He a graduate of Arsenal Tech High School, Indianapolis. He received his Master's Degree from Martin University and his PhD from Breyer State University.

He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army.

Jim was an excellent addictions therapist and licensed mental health counselor. He was a very spiritual man, loved music, a wonderful cook and was always helping others.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry L. (Coy) Perdue; children Cheryl Spears, Debbie (Chris) Wainscott, Kim (John) Kirby, Scott Perdue and Trey Marcum III; brothers David Perdue and Donald (Lisa) Perdue; sisters Sheila (David) Penturf, Sherrie (Jim) Haynes and Carolyn Sue (Andy) Rumple; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his two brothers from a another mother, lifelong friends, Carl Coffey and Frank Vaughn.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Jim's Life will be conducted at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 21 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Wounded Warriors Project or the donor's favorite United States Veterans Association.
